Brian E. Katona
Conductor, composer, keyboardist
Brian Katona is the associate conductor and keyboardist of the Greater Trenton Symphony Orchestra and New Jersey Repertory Orchestra. He is also a professor of Music at Rutgers University.
He has performed internationally as both conductor and pianist including appearances in Berlin, Venlo, Utrecht, Lucca, Cincinnati, Los Angeles and New York. His repertoire ranges from classical orchestral and choral works to musical theater, pop and jazz. His ensembles have performed at the Hollywood Bowl, Walt Disney Concert Hall and Dorothy Chandler Pavilion in Los Angeles. He has also prepared choruses for performances at Lincoln Center and Carnegie Hall in New York .
Dr. Katona’s compositions and arrangements have been premiered throughout the country including prominent venues in Los Angeles, New York and at the Aspen Music Festival. His music has also appeared on television and in film.
His latest work, Jesse James DEAD OR ALIVE, a new musical about the infamous outlaw, is currently being developed in Manhattan. (http://www.deadoralivethemusical.com/)
